How to activate the physical card?
The card is already active and ready to use. To activate the contactless payment function, simply make a payment in-store by entering the card’s PIN code.
Once this is done, you can use the card for future payments by tapping it. If you wish to activate the card for online purchases, you can do so in the app. Initially, this option is turned off for security purposes.
Can I use the card immediately after creating it in the app?
Yes, the card is active immediately after it is created in the INDEXO Bank app. It can be used for online purchases, and, by adding the card to ApplePay/GooglePay, also for contactless payments with your phone and smart watch, as well as for withdrawing cash at ATMs that support contactless technology.
How can I receive the physical card by mail?
The card will be sent to your postal address indicated in the INDEXO Bank mobile app. Before the card is sent out, you will have the opportunity to verify that the address is correct and up to date.

How to activate online payments?
To activate online payments, enable this option in the bank’s app. Go to section under the section “Cards” and below the digital card click on “Settings”, after you can turn on online payments.

What does contactless payments mean?
Contactless payment technology allows you to pay for purchases or withdraw cash by simply holding a card or mobile phone close to a POS terminal or ATM reader if the receiving device supports contactless payments. Purchases for an amount under €50 can also be made without entering a PIN – very quickly and conveniently. However, for the security of your payments, payments under €50 will also need to be confirmed with a PIN once in a while.
Is there a fee for a bank card?
The virtual card is free of charge for all INDEXO Bank Zelts plan clients. If you would also like a physical card, there is a one-time fee of €2.99 for its issuance and postal delivery.

How much cash can you withdraw from an ATM?
With an INDEXO Bank card, you can withdraw money from any ATM 3 times a month without additional fees. The maximum amount of money you can withdraw from an ATM is equal to your daily spending limit – by default €1,000.
Of course, it is possible to increase it for a certain period of time or permanently.
This is done as follows:
- Open the INDEXO Bank app
- Click on your profile or name and surname in the upper left corner
- Click on “Limits”
- Click on “Spending limit” and select your desired daily limit

Which ATMs can I use to withdraw cash with my INDEXO card?
With your INDEXO Bank card, you can withdraw cash from any nearby ATM 3 times per month without an extra fee (after that: 1% + €0.75).
Can I deposit cash using my INDEXO card?
No, this option is not available.
However, your INDEXO card allows you to withdraw cash from any ATM worldwide 3 times per month without an extra fee.
Apple Pay
Where can I use Apple Pay?
For the first time, Latvian residents can add local banks — INDEXO Bank — cards to their Apple Wallet and make payments using Apple Pay. Locals can!
Pay with your INDEXO Bank card anywhere you see the contactless payment symbol — in stores, online, and in apps where the Apple Pay logo is displayed. All you need is your iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac.
Where can I see the payment history?
Payment history is available in two ways:
In the INDEXO Bank app, on the home screen under “Transactions” you can see the latest payments. For more information, press “View All.”
In the Apple Wallet app, by opening your INDEXO card. Here you will only see transactions made with this card. To view transactions for other cards, open the corresponding card section.
Is Apple Pay secure?
Yes, Apple Pay is a secure payment method. It uses the built-in security features of your device to help keep your purchases private and secure.
All transactions require Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and a double-click on your Apple Watch. These features are designed to ensure that only you can authorize purchases with Apple Pay.
Your actual card information is not stored on the device or Apple servers. When you make a payment, Apple never shares your card number with merchants — this information is protected to provide additional fraud prevention.
Does using Apple Pay cost anything extra?
No, using Apple Pay with your INDEXO Bank card is completely free.
I already have other bank cards in Apple Wallet (digital wallet). Do I need to delete them?
No. You can add your INDEXO Bank card as an additional payment method. Apple Wallet allows you to store multiple cards simultaneously.
Which card will be used if I have multiple cards in my wallet?
At the time of payment, you can choose which card to use. For your convenience, you can set the INDEXO Bank card as the default card:
- Open Settings
- Choose Wallet & Apple Pay
- Press Default Card
- Choose the INDEXO Bank card
Can I pay with both iPhone and Apple Watch?
Yes, you can use both devices. Simply add your INDEXO Bank card to both your iPhone and your Apple Watch — and payments will work on both devices.
I receive two notifications for Apple Pay payments. Why?
That’s normal. One notification about successful payments comes from Apple Wallet, and another from the INDEXO mobile app. For declined payments, you will receive notifications only from the wallet.
If you wish, you can turn off Apple Pay notifications:
- Open Apple Wallet
- Choose your INDEXO Bank card
- Press the circle in the top right corner
- In the “Notifications” section, select your preferred option
What should I do if I lose my INDEXO Bank card but it is added to Apple Wallet? Will I still be able to pay with my phone?
Immediately block the card through the INDEXO Bank mobile app. Payments, including with Apple Pay, will not be accepted with a blocked card.
What should I do if I lose the device with my INDEXO Bank card? Will I still be able to pay with my physical card?
Contact us to block the card’s usage with Apple Pay. Meanwhile, you will still be able to pay using your physical INDEXO Bank card. On your new device, you can add the card to Apple Wallet again.
What should I do if I want to sell or give away my Apple device with my INDEXO Bank card linked?
Be sure to delete your INDEXO Bank card from Apple Wallet before handing the device over to someone else.
When paying with a phone, will the bank sometimes still ask for PIN or inserting the card into the POS terminal?
You will still need a PIN to withdraw cash from ATMs. But with Apple Pay, purchases are confirmed via biometric data or an access code if biometric data is unavailable.
Google Pay
Where can I use Google Pay?
For the first time, residents of Latvia can add a local bank card – INDEXO Bank’s card – to their Google Wallet and pay with Google Pay. Local power!
Pay with your INDEXO Bank card anywhere you see the contactless payment symbol – in stores, online, and in apps where the Google Pay logo is shown. All you need is your Android phone or smartwatch.
Where can I view my transaction history?
You can check your payment history in two ways:
In the INDEXO Bank app, on the home screen under “Transactions” – to see more, tap “View all”.
In the Google Wallet app, by opening your INDEXO card. Here you’ll only see transactions made with this card.
Is Google Pay secure?
Yes, Google Pay is a secure way to make payments. It uses the security features built into your device to help keep your purchases private and safe.
All transactions require device unlock – with fingerprint, face recognition, or access code. Only you can authorize purchases with Google Pay.

I already have other cards in my Google Wallet. Do I need to delete them?
No. You can add your INDEXO Bank card as an additional payment method. Google Wallet supports multiple cards.
Which card will be used if I have several?
You can choose which card to use at checkout. For convenience, you can set your INDEXO Bank card as the default. Here’s how:
1. Open Google Wallet
2. Find the INDEXO Bank card by swiping
3. Tap on the INDEXO Bank card
4. Tap “Card details” and set it as the default contactless payment card.
Can I pay with both my phone and smartwatch?
Yes, you can. Just add your INDEXO Bank card to both your phone and smartwatch – and pay with either device.

Immediately block the card via the INDEXO Bank mobile app. A blocked card cannot be used, including through Google Pay.
What if I lose the device linked to my INDEXO Bank card?
Contact us to block the card for use with Google Pay. Meanwhile, you can continue to use your physical INDEXO Bank card. You can re-add your card to a new device at any time.
What if I want to sell or give away my Android device with an INDEXO card added?
Be sure to remove your INDEXO Bank card from Google Wallet before handing the device over to someone else.
Will the bank still ask for PIN or physical card verification at times?
You will still need a PIN to withdraw cash from ATMs. For Google Pay purchases, authentication will be done via biometrics or your access code, if biometrics are unavailable.
Purchase insurance
What purchases are insured?
All purchases made with a valid INDEXO card are insured, including those made online or through other remote means. Additionally, the purchased items must be:
- new (unused) movable property;
- paid up to €7 500 *.
For example: computers, household appliances, toys, musical instruments, sports and recreational items, footwear, clothing, furniture, and other long-term use goods.
*Excluding purchases listed in the Purchase Insurance Terms.
What risks are covered?
Compensation is provided for losses occurring under the following circumstances:
- sudden and unforeseen damage;
- damage to the item;
- theft (if it occurs through forced entry) or robbery.
How much compensation will I receive?
These are the maximum amounts that If Insurance will compensate after an accident. If the actual losses are less, compensation will be paid based on the actual loss:
- compensation limit per purchase – €7 500;
- compensation limit per accident – €7 500;
- compensation limit per accident for specific purchases* – €1 000;
- total insurance coverage per year per cardholder – € 15 000.
*Purchases listed in the Purchase Insurance Terms.
What is the deductible?
A €30 deductible applies to each accident.
The deductible is the portion of the loss you pay in the event of insurance. For example, if the repair of a computer costs €150, you will cover €30, and the insurance will cover the remaining amount.
How long is the purchase insured for?
The purchase is insured for 365 days from the moment it is handed over for your use or when the first payment is made with a valid INDEXO card.
However, please note that insurance is no longer valid if your INDEXO card expires (its validity period ends, the card is suspended, terminated, or cancelled in any way) and you do not renew or replace it sequentially with a new one after the end of the previous card’s operation.
Are partially paid purchases insured?
Yes, partially paid purchases are also insured. In the event of an accident, compensation will be paid proportionally to the paid portion of the item.
However, please note that rented, leased, or purchased items on lease (items for which you do not have ownership rights) are not insured.
Are purchases I made for someone else insured?
Yes. Even in cases where the item is purchased as a gift or is used daily by another person, such as your child or partner, this purchase is insured.
Is insurance valid if I make a purchase abroad?
Insurance is valid worldwide, except for the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, and Ukraine. This means that purchases made with the INDEXO card in both Latvian and foreign online stores and retail locations are insured.
Is insurance valid if I lose or my card is stolen?
Yes, insurance is valid if you renew or sequentially replace the card with a new one after the end of the previous card’s operation.
How do I apply for compensation and what documentation is required?
As soon as possible, but no later than within five working days from the moment it becomes possible, apply for compensation online: here.

Attach copies of documents related to the accident to the compensation application:
- invoice or receipt confirming the purchase;
- account statement showing that the purchase was made with an INDEXO card;
on the specific occurrence of the risk additional documents listed below:
- in case of damage or breakage – an estimate issued by an authorized repair company for the planned repair costs, any necessary and reasonable transportation costs if transportation is required.
- in case of theft or robbery – police report.
How is the payable compensation calculated?
If Insurance will transfer the compensation to your INDEXO Bank account, deducting a €30 € deductible from the compensation amount. The amount of compensation depends on the condition of the item:
- If it is reasonable and economically feasible to repair the item, the basis for compensation is the repair costs, including necessary and reasonable transportation costs.
- If the item cannot be repaired or it is economically infeasible, or if the item is stolen, the basis for compensation is the purchase price of the item.
What is not reimbursed?
According to the Purchase Insurance Terms, losses for items that are:
- purchased used (not new);
- rented, leased, or purchased on lease;
- motorized vehicles, trailers, water and air vehicles, their equipment, parts, and accessories necessary for maintenance;
- cash, stamps and coins, tickets, checks, vouchers, and other means of payment.

Consumer loan
What is the purpose of a consumer loan?
The INDEXO consumer credit can be used for a wide variety of purposes, such as, but not limited to, travel, education, medical services, a larger purchase, or daily consumption needs. Whether you need an car loan for a new car or a renovation loan for home improvements – spend it as you wish.
What changes to the consumer loan can I make and where?
In the INDEXO Bank app, you can request changes to the consumer loan payment date, early repayment, and credit holidays. This can be done by clicking “Loans” and then “Manage” section.

How to change the payment date for my consumer loan?
Changes can be made in the INDEXO Bank app – go to section “Loans” then click on “Manage” and “Change monthly payment date”. You can do this for free.
Where can I find information about my loan?
View the necessary information in your INDEXO Bank app– go to section “Loans” and then click on “Detailed information”.
Where can I request an accelerated (early) repayment of my loan or reduce the repayment term?
Changes can be made in the INDEXO Bank app – go to section “Loans” then click on “Manage” and “Repay loan early”.
How can I apply for credit holidays?
Changes can be made in the INDEXO Bank app– go to section “Loans” then click on “Manage” and “Request credit holidays”.
Can I take an additional amount for an existing consumer loan?
If you need a bigger loan amount, go to the INDEXO Bank apps’ section “Loans” then click on “Request more” section and fill out the form.
What is the maximum amount of a consumer loan I can apply for?
The maximum amount of a consumer loan is €25 000.
Why am I asked for my location?
Unfortunately, it’s not to deliver money in a suitcase for you. We require this information because we only issue loans to residents of Latvia and individuals with a permanent residence permit.
How can I apply for a consumer loan?
To apply for a consumer loan, go to your INDEXO Bank app, then search for section “Loans” then click “View available offers”.
What information do I need to provide to get a consumer loan?
In the application form, you are required to provide us with:
- current location;
- reason for taking the loan;
- information about existing loans;
- residential address (if not automatically retrieved).
Mortgage loan refinancing
What is the difference between refinancing a loan and purchasing?
Refinancing means transferring an existing mortgage loan to another bank – often with more favorable terms, such as a lower interest rate, more convenient repayment schedule, or the possibility of receiving additional funding. In contrast, purchasing refers to taking out a new mortgage to buy a new home or property.
Why should I refinance my mortgage?
Refinancing can help reduce monthly payments, lower total interest costs, or adjust the loan term to better fit your current financial situation. It’s a chance to review your commitments and align them with your goals.

What are the terms of the INDEXO contract?

What properties can be refinanced?
We offer refinancing for residential properties that have been commissioned – apartments, private houses, etc. If you’re unsure whether your property qualifies, feel free to contact our team – we’ll help assess it individually.
Can I receive an additional amount?
Yes, we consider granting an additional amount above the existing loan balance. This can be useful if you’re planning renovations, buying household appliances, or pursuing other financial goals. The additional amount depends on the property’s value and your repayment capacity. We will assess your application and provide a personalized offer.
Will my Altum guarantee continue?
At the moment, INDEXO Bank does not offer the option to transfer an Altum guarantee. However, we review such cases individually. If the guarantee is no longer needed, we offer to refinance the loan without it. This means that once your loan is refinanced with us, you will no longer be a participant in the Altum program, and you won’t have to make any additional payments that were previously tied to the guarantee.
These changes will not affect your loan terms – we ensure clear and transparent conditions, even without a state guarantee.
Do I need to submit a new property valuation?
Yes, to assess your loan eligibility and determine the possible loan amount, an up-to-date property valuation is needed. It helps us determine the property’s market value accurately. View our list of approved valuers here.
Why do I need to wait for a response from my current bank?
Before we can prepare the final refinancing offer, we need to obtain official information from your current bank about the outstanding loan balance and existing contract terms. This step is essential to accurately calculate the amount required to pay off your existing loan.
How long does refinancing take?
Most applicants receive their offers within 10 minutes. However, due to high demand, the preparation of an offer may take more time — yet even these offers are completed faster than the industry standard.
Meanwhile, the refinancing process can take up to a month, depending on how quickly the documents are prepared and how fast the involved parties respond. We will do our best to organize everything as smoothly as possible and will keep you informed about each next step.
Can I refinance my loan if my income or employment status has changed?
Yes, we assess each case individually. A decrease in income or a change in employment status does not mean automatic rejection. We encourage you to submit an application – we’ll review your situation and offer the best possible solution.
Is it possible to refinance a loan if the property is jointly owned with another person?
Yes, it is possible, but each situation is assessed individually.
Is it possible to refinance a loan more than once?
Yes, refinancing can be done more than once if it aligns with your goals and financial situation. If circumstances change and you have the opportunity to secure better terms, refinancing again might be a smart choice. We’ll help you evaluate whether it makes financial sense in your case.

When applying for the loan, you’ll be asked to specify its purpose. If you plan to use the loan amount for several purposes, indicate the main one.
Can the loan be used for investments or savings?
Yes, you can also use the property value for investments, development of additional space, home modernisation, or other long-term plans.
How is the available loan amount determined?
The loan amount is calculated based on your property’s market value and your creditworthiness.

Does taking out a loan affect property ownership?
No, your ownership rights remain unchanged. The loan is secured by the property value, but you continue to manage and use the property for your needs.

Is property insurance mandatory?

Payments
How to make a payment?
To make a payment in the INDEXO Bank app, open the “Send, Request” section then click on “Send money” section. Next:
- choose from your contacts to whom to transfer money;
- create a new payment.
How quickly are payments processed?
If the transfer is between INDEXO Bank recipients, it usually processes within a few seconds.
Instant transfers are processed within a few seconds if the recipient’s bank accepts instant transfers.
Standard transfers are processed on the next business day, depending on when the recipient’s bank and the Central Bank approve the payment.
Can transfers be made outside the EU?
INDEXO provides payments to European countries that use the € currency.
Are there limits on payments?
Yes, for your financial security, there is a set limit on payments. The standard spending limit for all accounts is €1000 per day. Of course, you have the option to increase it for a specific period or permanently. Here’s how you can do it:
- Open the INDEXO Bank app
- Click on your profile or name and surname in the upper left corner
- Press “Limits”
- Press “Spending limit” and choose your desired daily limit
We will review your limit increase request within one business day.
How to set up a recurring payment?
It’s very simple. When making a payment, select the amount and the recipient as usual. Then click on the calendar icon in the lower-left corner to choose your preferred frequency for the recurring payment. Click “Continue,” then “Schedule,” and your recurring payment is set up.
Where can I view all recurring payments?
You can view all recurring payments as follows:
- Open the INDEXO Bank app.
- Tap “Payments” on the bottom menu.
- Tap the calendar icon in the top-right corner.
In this section, you can edit the details of your recurring payments.
Can I cancel a payment?
Theoretically yes, if the other party agrees.
If a refund needs to be issued for a payment made via card, then write to INDEXO. The order should include the payment card used for the transaction and specify the transaction itself.
If the payment was made via bank transfer, then you also need to write to INDEXO. The order should specify the account from which the payment was made and the payment itself.
A quicker process would be to request the recipient to return the funds themselves.
Where can I modify or cancel a recurring payment?
If you wish to change the details of a recurring payment, you can always do so in the INDEXO Bank app. Here’s how:
- Open the INDEXO Bank app.
- Tap “Payments” on the bottom menu.
- Tap the calendar icon in the top-right corner.
- Select the payment you want to edit, delete, or pause.
How to make online payments with an INDEXO card?
Online payments are made like any other bank’s payment. For your convenience, we have prepared instructions that can be viewed here (LV).
Are there any countries where payments are currently not possible?
At the moment, card payments are not available in the following countries:

Payments to a phone number
How to make a payment if I only know the recipient's phone number?
To make a payment in the INDEXO Bank app, open the “Send, Request” section then click on “Send money”, and choose one of the existing contacts or press “Create a new payment” and “Phone number payment” – in both cases, a payment window will open in which you can enter the desired amount.
How to request a payment if I only know the phone number?
To request a payment in the INDEXO Bank app, open the section “Send, Request” then click on “Request money”. Then click on “Share details” and select the person you want to send the request to.
What to do if I enter the wrong phone number for a payment? How can I know if the person I'm sending money to hasn't changed their number?
For your safety, you must first enter the recipient’s phone number when making a payment in the INDEXO Bank app. Before entering the money amount, the name and surname of the true recipient will appear – it will differ if the recipient’s phone number has changed.
Are payments to a phone number safe?
Yes, as secure as any other payment.
Can anyone from any bank receive a money request from me?
Yes, the request for money from INDEXO Bank will work for customers of all banks in Latvia. INDEXO Bank users will receive a notification with a payment request (if the notifications are turned on), others – where you send it to them.
What to do if my phone number changes?
Go to the “Profile” section and provide there your new phone number. If the phone number is inaccurate, others may encounter difficulty sending you funds, or the process may become tricky and troublesome for them.
Profile
Can I use multiple INDEXO Bank profiles on one phone?
Yes, it is possible. To use additional profiles on one device, when logging in with a new profile, you must confirm the sign-in with Smart-ID (on the device where your Smart-ID is running – it may not be the same device where you want to connect to INDEXO Bank), Veriff (passport/ID card), or eParaksts Mobile. Then you will have the opportunity to connect the desired profile in the INDEXO app on the specific device.
In the INDEXO Bank app, you can always view the devices linked to the profile and remove them.
Is it possible to log into your INDEXO Bank profile on someone else's device?
Yes, it is possible. Such a need may arise if something goes wrong with your device – for example, it is lost.
In order to access the bank profile through a foreign device in emergency cases, the existing user must log out of his profile by clicking on his first and last name initials and “Logout” in the app. The other user must then authenticate with the personal code and the INDEXO Bank PIN code they created. After this step, you will need to confirm your identity either with the INDEXO Bank application on the old device, if it is available, or with one of the identity verification services – SmartID, eParaksts Mobile or biometric verification (it will require an ID card or passport). Once this is done, access to the profile will be activated on the new device.
If, as a result of an emergency, you have used INDEXO Bank on a device belonging to another person, after authorization, for your own security, we recommend disconnecting the foreign device – press your first and last name in the INDEXO Bank app, then select “Settings” and “Connected devices”.

How is interest calculated for saving in savings vault?
Interest is calculated on the savings vault balance at the end of each day and is credited to the savings vault once a month. When calculating interest, we apply an annual interest rate and assume that there are 360 days in a year.
Remember that personal income tax will be automatically deducted from the interest paid in the amount specified in the legislation.
Can I freely deposit and withdraw money into the savings vault?
Yes, that’s the appeal of a savings vault – add and withdraw money without limits whenever you want.
How does purchase rounding work?
Another convenient way to add to your savings vault is the payment rounding tool. This feature allows you to automatically round each purchase to the nearest round number and transfer the difference to your vault.
For example, if you make a purchase for 1.30 euros, 70 cents will be transferred to your savings account. You can set second, third or even fifth speed for rounding purchases. This will determine how many times this amount will be multiplied – for example, x2 means that the amount will be doubled and 1.40 euros will be transferred. It will help you save money easily and seamlessly every time you make any purchase.
Term deposits
How can I enter into a term deposit agreement?
Everything can be done in a couple of seconds in INDEXO Bank’s mobile app.
- Open the “Savings” section of the INDEXO mobile app and press the “Add new savings” button;
- Select “Term deposit” and fill out the application – specify the desired term and amount;
- Confirm your agreement to the term deposit terms (including the applicable interest rate);
- Transfer the amount you want to invest to the term deposit account.
That’s all. Now your money is making money on its own.
How does compound interest work?
INDEXO term deposits use a compound interest approach—this means that your earned interest each month is added to the deposit principal. Thus, with each following month, interest is calculated on a larger amount, generating additional earnings. The earned interest will be calculated on the term deposit amount from the start date to the end date of the deposit (excluding the end date).
Once a month, INDEXO will credit the earned term deposit interest to your term deposit account. This interest will be added to the deposit principal, and the following month’s interest will be calculated based on this updated amount. In calculating interest, we apply an annual interest rate and assume a 360-day year. On the end date of the term deposit, we will transfer the deposit amount and accrued interest to your settlement account.
Please note that personal income tax will be withheld from the paid interest as prescribed by law.
How many term deposits can I open?
There is no limit to the number of open term deposits. Open as many as you want!

What is the procedure for early termination?
To terminate a term deposit early, select the specific contract in the app, click “Manage,” and choose “Early Withdrawal.”
In the next window, you’ll see what you will lose as a client—accrued interest and a 1% penalty fee based on the original deposit amount. If you agree, contact the customer support team within the app, stating that you wish to end the contract early.
The contract will be terminated within one business day, and the remaining balance will be paid into your account.
Is it possible to add funds to a term deposit?
No. You can make all the necessary changes before signing the contract. After the contract is signed, it’s not possible to make changes or add to the deposited amount.
If the contract is already signed – don’t worry. You can always open a new term deposit with the remaining amount.
Is it possible to extend a term deposit?
Yes, INDEXO offers the option to activate automatic deposit renewal.
It’s convenient and profitable – with an extra +0.10 percentage points added to the interest rate valid at the time.
At the end of your deposit term, the earned interest will be paid to your current account, while the original principal will be reinvested for the same term at the current rate, including the bonus rate for renewal.
